Cassetter’s imaginative cyberpunk style takes a turn toward the dark side on the detailed and bass-heavy new track, “Memory Manipulation.” The song’s robotic effects and steely sound design immerse listeners in a world of the future where reality is flexible and our memories are not always our own. “Memory Manipulation” is the latest single toward Cassetter’s upcoming full-length album and is out now from independent synthwave label FiXT Neon.
“Memory Manipulation” was inspired by the Blade Runner 2049 movie and Black Mirror series, which I’m fan of. The concept revolves around corrupt individuals using hi-tech equipment to manipulate human minds and achieve their goals. From a musical perspective, I wanted to make a heavy mid-tempo track in a cyberpunk style that conveys the theme I had in mind.– Cassetter
