“Onyx” features gritty, robotic vocals and dense percussive layering; delving into the uncharted territory that is The Darkness, “Onyx” merges the realms of darkwave and cyberpunk into a unique shadow-forged sound all it’s own.

Pre-Order The Darkness: https://fanlink.to/thedarkness

The Darkness is Scandroid like you’ve never heard him before, as the artist unleashes his dark side across six brand new tracks. Never content to rest on what he’s already accomplished, Klayton, the mastermind behind the project, has driven his music into uncharted territory on The Darkness and given every song its own distinctive identity. From the old school heavy metal riffs of “Phoenix” to the ominous cybersynth tone of “Red Planet” and “Out of the Darkness,” each entry will pull you deeper into Scandroid’s darkly cybernetic world.

In addition to the six original tracks, Scandroid has packed The Darkness with electrifying remixes from some of the most talented and innovative artists in and around synthwave today. Even better, this new release is just the start of Scandroid’s latest creative opus, The Darkness and The Light. Fans will be able to immerse themselves in the second half, The Light, in 2019, with a complete full-length release to follow.

Scandroid Releases “Phoenix”

September 4, 2018
Artist News
Scandroid

Scandroid’s signature style collides with old school metal on “Phoenix,” a blazing piece of guitar-driven music that rocks the foundation of the artist’s discography. This is Scandroid through and through, but not like you’ve heard him before, as crunchy riffs and soaring guitar solos deliver a high-octane listening experience. With its blend of ‘80s heavy metal and cyberpunk-infused synthwave, “Phoenix” is one more example of Scandroid’s versatile songwriting ability.

“Besides new wave, the biggest musical genre I listened to in the ‘80s was metal. Knowing the sound of The Darkness was going to be, well…darker, I wanted to harken back to some of my ‘80s metal roots. ’Phoenix’ combines the Scandroid sound fans have come to know  combined with a throwback to the iconic sound of metal from that era.” – Klayton (Scandroid)

FiXT Alumni, Josh Money, is back for another remix; this time for Scandroid’s cover of “Shout”!

Josh Money taps into that vintage ’90s sound, in tandem with Scandroid’s signature synthwave, to produce this funk-tastic remix! Smooth transitioning between genres allows for perfect fluidity along the track. You won’t be able to keep yourself from grooving along to the beat!

Electronic artist Josh Money has rendezvoused with FiXT once again. The Atlanta-based producer has created a hybrid, bass-house meets ’90s breakbeat remix of Scandroid’s cover of Tears For Fears #1 hit, “Shout.”

“‘Shout’ was one of my favorite songs as a kid, so when I heard Scandroid’s dope rendition, I knew I had to get access! I went in with certain ideas in mind, but ended up scrapping them and instead let the genius of Klayton’s work guide the remix, which took me on a journey from old-school breaks, to nu-disco, to bass house. Crazy at times, odd even, I think it’s my most fun remix to date!” – Josh Money
