Inexedra confirms his reputation as one of the most innovative cyberpunk synthwave creators working today with the brand new track, “Quasar.” This progressive piece blends influences from psy-trance and synthwave into a thrilling soundscape accented by Inexedra’s striking vocal delivery for a deep and rewarding trip through the retrofuture.

“A quasar is the brightest known object in the observable universe. The challenge with my track ‘Quasar’ was capturing the intensity of such a spectacular phenomenon. It is perhaps my most ambitious musical effort to date.”

 – Inexedra

Klayton Releases Dark Movie Score for “The Dunes”

March 2, 2020
Artist News, Artist Press
Klayton, The Dunes

The Dunes (Official Motion Picture Score) marks the first feature-length film score from artist & composer Klayton. Best known for his high-octane electronic-rock project Celldweller, Klayton approached The Dunes with elaborate sound design and pristine production, to create a disturbingly ambient and frenetic audio companion to the psychological thriller. Using pulsing rhythms and cinematic tension, Klayton delivers a sense of unease with creeping beats and airy synths across the score, providing the perfect soundtrack for a descent into madness.

“My mind has always naturally understood the concept of audio/visual synchronization, so scoring to picture has been something I knew I would organically venture into. Having the opportunity to score my first feature film gave me the license I needed to explore new sonic and compositional territories. From an electric drill on a cello, custom built instruments, extreme metal blastbeats, and a copious amount of modular synths, my aim was to have the score become more diverse and erratic throughout the film, to follow the arc of the main character ‘Gerald’.”

The Anix Discusses Artistic Struggle & ’90s Nostalgia With Release of New Single “Still Standing”

February 28, 2020
Artist News, Artist Press
The Anix

The Anix pulls nostalgically back into the angst-ridden self-awareness of ’90s grunge with “Still Standing.” Exploring lyrical themes of failure, loss, and struggle, The Anix weaves his signature emotive vocals, gritty guitars, and abrasive drums through “Still Standing”, providing a haunting illustration of the struggle to survive off of your own creativity.

Lyrically, the song is about my internal struggle of failing in the music business, signing bad deals, getting gear stolen on tour, losing relationships, friends, money-essentially it’s about the life of an artist.”

– The Anix

“Still Standing” is a track I wrote further emphasizing my appreciation for the darker grunge alt-rock era in the early 90’s. This minimalistic, fuzz soaked guitar riff driven vibe is what captured my attention in High School and got me interested in playing in bands. I wanted to make a song that is so simple, anyone could pick up a guitar or synth and play it, yet add a level of detail in terms of the programming to elevate it into a style suitable for the future of the genre.

PRIZM kicks off 2020 with their irresistible new track “Move Me”

February 28, 2020
Artist News
Move Me, PRIZM

Dallas-based pop duo PRIZM is kicking off 2020 in a big way with their irresistible new track, “Move Me.” This funky, hook-heavy piece pays tribute to the group’s ‘80s inspiration, marrying authentic throwback synths and songwriting with a clean vocal style that feels perfectly at home in the modern era. Don’t be surprised to find yourself singing along to the spirited chorus section and humming “Move Me” long after you listen.

Move Me started as a simple track idea back in 2019. Other ideas came and went but we just kept coming back to it. Our recent releases all dealt with heavier topics like, heartbreak and nostalgia so we were eager to get back to something more care-free. Something that just makes you want to move. So in January 2020 we locked ourselves in our Fort Worth studio and made it happen. We want this to be an unplugging song for people, whether it’s a workout or night out. We hope you feel it!

– PRIZM

“Move Me” follows hot on the heels of PRIZM’s brand new music video for “All Night,” and together they set the stage for a breakout year for the group.

February 26, 2020
Artist News
Extra Terra, Man Or Machine

Cyberpunk stalwart Extra Terra combines forces with synthwave siren Megan McDuffee on the visionary new track, “Man or Machine.” Extra Terra’s steely synth melodies and thunderous rhythms contrast perfectly with McDuffee’s lustrous singing performance for a song that beautifully captures the atmosphere of a dystopian sci-fi world.

“In the future, humans will probably fall in love with sentient machines. This music is deeply connected to that theme.”

– Extra Terra

“When I received the instrumental from Extra Terra, it had this fantastic gritty, other-worldly, and sensual pulse. The idea of passion between a human woman and a cyborg man immediately came to me…love transcending biology.”

– Megan McDuffee

“Man or Machine” is the third single from the upcoming cyberpunk synthwave compilation, FiXT Neon: Altered, joining Signal Void and King Protea’s “Find You” and DEADLIFE’s “No Longer Human” on the path the album’s full release. “Man or Machine” is available now on all major platforms from independent synthwave label FiXT Neon.

Blue Cabriolet, Cassetter, FiXT Artist, FiXT Neon, FiXT Neon Music, Synth, Synthwave

Cassetter’s funky new feel-good track “Blue Cabriolet” takes a classic synthwave sound and transports it into the future, delivering the artist’s colorful vision of a cyberpunk world across four exciting minutes. Combining thumping bass beats with gleaming melodies for a song that feels like a beach-side drive in the year 2080, “Blue Cabriolet” is a perfect driving song for 2020.

“Blue Cabriolet” is the second new single from Cassetter since his debut full-length album The Fugitive, and it follows “Catch Me If You Can” on the artist’s release schedule. The track is available now on all major platforms from independent synthwave label FiXT Neon.

High speed, wind in our hair – starting the Saturday evening in the Cyberpunk City while driving fast in a retro car – that’s what I felt while creating this one. The track is a mashup of retro melodies with some futuristic vibes.

NUTRONIC plugs back in after going dark with their newest single “Reconnect”

February 21, 2020
Artist News, Artist Press
Nutronic, Reconnect

Everything is connected. NUTRONIC’s latest release “Reconnect” embraces just that. With a steady blend of charged electronic beats, heavy guitars, and lyrics yearning for change, “Reconnect” pushes you through a high energy track aimed at letting go of the things that don’t matter and reaching for things that do.

“Reconnect” is a reaction to our song “Go Dark”, a song that wants to unplug from the afflictions of modern society and screen dependence. Where Go Dark was about disconnection, Reconnect is about finding light in that darkness: self reflection, growth. Recently, our songs have taken a more organic approach to writing and recording. In Reconnect, we wanted to emphasize that spirit.”
