FiXT Academy Announces Webinar With Content Virality Expert Dustin Boyer: “Branding For The Authentic Era”

FiXT Academy is thrilled to welcome Dustin Boyer on June 17th for for an exclusive webinar you won’t want to miss: “Branding For The Authentic Era.” Anyone can join the Live Webinar on Zoom for FREE by joining the FiXT Academy e-mail list through this sign-up form.

FiXT Academy is thrilled to announce Ryan Shuck (Orgy / Julien-K) will be hosting Part 2 of his live Dustin Boyer is the founder of Industry Plant, a creative agency built around a simple question: why do people really fall in love with an artist? He is a seasoned marketing professional and content virality expert with over 15 years of experience in the music industry.

After years leading strategy at Venture Music and driving breakout moments for artists like Zach Top, Dustin saw a gap in how the industry approached branding. “Most agencies chase visibility,” he says, “but they miss the deeper resonance—the emotional and cultural reasons people become fans in the first place.”

So he launched Industry Plant to change that. Based in Nashville, the agency is fiercely focused on building artist worlds: immersive, values-driven branding systems that align with what listeners actually find meaningful. Whether working with legacy acts or emerging voices in country, Americana, or alt genres, Dustin’s approach starts with the artist’s core values and builds content and strategy around that.

The name Industry Plant is a tongue-in-cheek reference to a myth: “If you work in music, you know there’s no such thing. No amount of marketing can replace a great song. But every artist deserves a team that helps them grow. We just own it.”

Dustin remains deeply hands-on with each project, embedding himself in artist teams, guiding creative direction, and helping artists understand what makes them resonate.

“Working with James and the FiXT team has been one of the absolute highlights of my career so far. James has a unique style of giving direction that’s both real and kind. He’ll tell you what you need to hear, but in a way that leaves you feeling motivated instead of down. That kind of support has been a huge part of helping me level up as an artist.

What I really admire about James and FiXT is that they actually live by the values they talk about. FiXT doesn’t just slap some nice-sounding principles on their website, they actually back them up in what they do. As an artist who has worked with 10+ different record labels in my career, I can say it’s rare to work with a team that aligns their actions with their ideals, and it makes the whole collaboration way more enjoyable and productive.

If you get the chance to work with James, take it! He’s one of the best in the business, and working with him and FiXT has made me a better artist and person.” – James Guttman (HIGHSOCIETY) Artist / Producer / DJ

“James is one of the best label executives I’ve had the pleasure of working with. His top-tier communication skills and approachable demeanor make every collaboration seamless. James is a person of unwavering integrity—someone who consistently delivers on their word, a rare quality in today’s world. Working with him is always a privilege and something I enjoy a lot.” – Joel Wanasek (Nail The Mix | Drumforge)

“Over my 18 years in the music industry, I’ve had the privilege of working with countless independent and major label executives, but I’ve never encountered anyone quite like James Rhodes. His passion, kindness, and relentless drive set him apart in every way. James’s dedication to FiXT and the artists he works with goes beyond the surface—he’s deeply invested in educating, empowering, and guiding artists to achieve lasting success. It’s rare to work with someone who genuinely cares about both the craft and the creator, and James embodies that rare blend of integrity and commitment.” – Michael Money (Beyond Unbroken) | Artist/Producer

Landing on an official editorial playlist can totally change the trajectory of your release. It’s an incredibly powerful tool for exposure and growth in today’s streaming-driven music landscape. It’s probably not going to happen overnight, though. It’s important to take a top-down view on things sometimes, and if you do, you’ll realize that each of the genre editors at every one of the major DSPs is probably getting hundreds of pitches a day, sifting through thousands of new tracks a week…
