PYLOT’s Faded Light

March 21, 2019
Artist News
PYLOT

Premiering with YourEDM, PYLOT’s “Faded Light” traverses the neon airwaves, possessing a tangible emotion and nostalgia, fleeting feelings the listener is not entirely privy to. Hints of yearning and strange familiarity flow through each note, enveloping and melding with the listener entirely in a feeling befitting a late-night reflective stroll; pangs of memories of a fonder time resonate with stronger synth notes, eventually fading back to a tone of quiet reflection and somber departure.

Following on the heels of the much more heavy-set “Alice” and “Lost,” the song will sure catch listeners off guard with the beautifully atmospheric piano in the intro, as well as some light acoustic guitar strumming.
“Faded Light” also manages to intricately weave in layers of blissful melodies and retro beats that make the song out to be a true synthwave masterpiece, albeit a little bit outside the typical synthwave formula. Definitely not a track to miss out on!

-YourEDM

PYLOT’s highly anticipated sophomore EP, Solai, explores a complex and thrilling world of futuristic synthwave that only PYLOT could create. Its diverse selection of tracks shifts from electrifying moments packed with guitar solos to thoughtful piano melodies, all accented by gorgeous synth tones and subtly elaborate percussion. Once listeners enter this darkly beautiful world, they may find they never want to leave. Join PYLOT on an adventure through Solai’s fully realized musical world of the future, available through independent retro / synthwave label FiXT Neon.

PYLOT Signs With FiXT Neon; Releases “Alice” Ahead of ‘Solai’ EP

February 14, 2019
Artist News
PYLOT

Synthwave artist/producer PYLOT has officially signed with retro/synthwave label FiXT Neon and is returning in full-force for his sophomore EP, Solai. The project is slated for March 2019 following a series of independent singles and PYLOT’s debut EP, Shadowtask, released with EDM label Monstercat, in 2017.

Created in 2015, PYLOT is a project inspired by music, film and various art styles from the ’80s. Its focus is to provide original music influenced heavily by genres such as synthwave, as well as a diverse range of film and tv show soundtracks. The idea is to engage listeners in a compelling story where the music serves as the soundtrack. With no strict release schedule, this story unfolds periodically in the form of ‘journal entries’ using a graphic novel type format that listeners can read on www.iampylot.com. With each release, PYLOT also publishes original artwork illustrated by Mike Yakovlev.

With a solid background of releasing with one of Canada’s most influential and growing record labels ‘Monstercat’ as well as independently, PYLOT’s music has been streamed millions of times and garnered millions of views across multiple platforms.

Solai’s lead-off single, “Alice” perfectly embodies the diversity and complexity of PYLOT’s music. Opening with attractively nostalgic synth tones, the song breaks into a classic synthwave rhythm laced with electric guitar and chime-like synth melodies for a satisfying blend of instruments and songwriting styles. As a standalone track, “Alice” fully represents PYLOT’s intuitive mastery of the synthwave genre, and as an introduction to the Solai EP, it promises great things to come.

The Bad Dreamers Sign To FiXT Neon!

January 10, 2019
Artist News
The Bad Dreamers

FiXT Neon is proud to announce The Bad Dreamers as the newest signing to FiXT’s synthwave/indie-pop label division, joining artists Scandroid, Fury Weekend, Sunset Neon, and 3FORCE! Named #1 on NewRetroWave’s Top 10 Newcomers of 2018 and #1 on Iron Skullet’s Top 10 Popwave Albums of 2018, The Bad Dreamers join the FiXT Neon family with much anticipation around the project in 2019. To kick things off, FiXT Neon is re-releasing The Bad Dreamer’s debut album Songs About People Including Myself, including instrumental versions of each track available for the first time, ahead of new original material coming later this year.

David Schuler is The Bad Dreamers, an LA-based act fusing the nostalgic charm of synthwave with the innovation of modern pop for one of the most recognizable and exciting sounds in contemporary music. The artist honed his perfectly balanced songwriting style and top-flight production skills as a music industry professional working with artists like Pink, John Legend, and New Politics.

The Bad Dreamers provides an opportunity for Schuler to explore a more personal approach to his music, and initially served as a means of creating a soundtrack for his short film project, The Offer. The Bad Dreamers ultimately evolved into a standalone effort, and Schuler began earning notoriety through a series of successful singles and a popular collaboration with Timecop1983 on the song “Back to You.”

In 2018, Schuler released The Bad Dreamers’ first full-length album, Songs About People Including Myself,  and the recording quickly connected with a synthwave fan base looking for fresh approaches to the genre.

In addition to praise from fans, the album racked up critical accolades upon its release: NewRetroWave named The Bad Dreamers number one on their list of the Top 10 Newcomers of 2018, and Iron Skullet placed Songs About People Including Myself in the top spot on the Top 10 Popwave Albums of 2018. The recording even earned a rare 95 / 100 in Iron Skullet’s full review.

Even without the backing of a major label, Songs About People Including Myself gained a place alongside some of the biggest artists in and around synthwave, including The Midnight and Gunship, and it became clear the project was destined for bigger things.

Riding on the ever-growing success of the debut, The Bad Dreamers kicked off 2019 by signing with FiXT Neon. The label is giving Songs About People Including Myself a proper re-release while Schuler returns to the studio to prepare for a follow-up recording. With an acclaimed album to his name and the support of a groundbreaking label moving forward, it’s safe to say that great things lie in store for Schuler and The Bad Dreamers.

Songs About People Including Myself
is now available for Purchase/Stream from FiXT Neon

Songs About People Including Myself is the revolutionary album that redefined vocal-driven synthwave in 2018. Combining the retro nostalgia of synthwave with modern pop music, The Bad Dreamers delivers heartfelt vocal hooks and handsome synth melodies on radio-friendly jewels like “California Winter,” “How to Disappear,” and “Reach You.” Far from a one-dimensional artist, The Bad Dreamers also reveals an affinity for industrial music on the somber “Part Time God” and the noir-ish narrative “Hit Me Harder.” Subtle songwriting touches and impeccable production chops give every track an authenticity that reflects the artist’s background as an industry professional.

THE BAD DREAMERS LIVE IN LA!

The Bad Dreamers are performing live January 27th in LA! They’ll be joining headliners Transviolet and indie-electronic duo Sleeping Lion at The Echo; the event is open to all ages, tickets are $12 in advance and $15 the day of.

Artist News
Fury Weekend

Evocative and dark, Fury Weekend’s “Savior” (feat. Josh Money) dives into the theme of exploitation and the unyielding will of the human spirit.

“Euphoria” is the second single releasing with sub-label FiXT Neon from the one-man Russian synthwave act’s coming 2019 album. In addition to repackaging all four previous recordings for re-release, FiXT Neon is preparing to launch the next era in Fury Weekend’s impressive career.

Futuresynth and Outrun fusion, Fury Weekend’s “Euphoria” (featuring Scandroid) combines the brooding sounds of Cybersynth with the lyrically idealistic elements of traditional Popwave. Part robotic love song, part avowal of cybernetic liberation, “Euphoria” fuses these Retrosynth domains into a complex and unique musical mosaic.
