After meandering through a few different song ideas, we wanted to push our envelope even more into rock and metal coming from an electronic music background. Lyrically, Empathy is a punch in the throat of self indulgence but counters that with a message of common good and hope. We listened to bands like Killswitch Engage, Underoath, and Comeback Kid growing up. With Empathy, we wanted to deliver the same sense of urgency that those bands did effortlessly.”
